Ted is a mechanical engineer-turned management consultant-turned analytics engineer and startup executive. After getting his start at Bain & Company, Ted held Strategy and Marketing roles at Tough Mudder before joining MakeSpace in 2014. In his 7 years at MakeSpace, as a member of the Executive Team, Ted led Strategy and Data as the company scaled from 1 to 31 cities, overhauled the product, go-to-market, and operations several times, and raised over $150M in capital from VCs and a strategic partnership with Iron Mountain. As an early adopter of the Modern Data Stack and dbt, Ted is the Chief Data Officer at Workstream.io, and a prominent developer of open-source data tools, including sqlfmt and harlequin.
