About
Joel is a Senior Developer Experience Advocate at dbt Labs based in Wellington, New Zealand. Before joining the dbt team, he was Head of Data at EdTech startup Education Perfect, where he replaced a scrappy set of homegrown tools for analytics with the Modern Data Stack. As someone who accidentally found his way into data roles, Joel is a big believer in SQL as a career catalyst so is delighted to spend his days helping others enhance their impact.
